Compromise Agreements; Make a clean break.

Where a dispute arises between parties settlement is not easy. Even if the employee is willing to reach an agreement they can’t just sign away their statutory rights. One way of ensuring that the settlement is final is for the employee to get independent legal advice which is recorded in a compromise agreement. Under a compromise agreement the employee signs away any potential claims they may have against the employer as a result of the employer’s actions or dismissal. The employer will therefore normally pay all or part of the employee’s legal fees related to a compromise agreement in addition to the settlement money. Once a compromise agreement is signed the employee won’t normally be able to make a claim against their employer relating to their employment.

I can advise either employers or employees about reaching a fair compromise.
